[edit] Money in Politics
Large, unregulated campaign contributions have a history of corrupting and distorting our elections.
[edit] Redistricting
When politicians are able to decide on the boundaries of the districts they represent it leads to jerrymandered districts and noncompetitive elections.
Redistricting decisions must be removed from partisan legislators to make votes truly count. The goal is to create legislative and congressional districts that are representative of the population and districting plans that result in more competitive congressional and legislative districts. This can be accomplished through using a nonpartisan commission instead of politicians to draw district lines and by requiring districts to be politically competitive to the extent practical.
[edit] Election Reform
Too many voters lack confidence in our election systems. It is essential that each and every vote is counted and that every citizen should have faith in our election system and the belief that their vote matters. Citizens should scrutinize the election process at all levels, including “vote centers,” initiated to reduce the number of polling places/precincts.
[edit] Ethics and gifts to public officials
Public officials should make decisions that are in public interest, not because they may realize personal gain or because of a gift someone has given them.
